Horopito Café provides a thoughtful dining experience for visitors, staff, and the wider communityReflecting the broader values of the ecosanctuary, the café seeks to bridge the gap between conservation practise and our modern lifestyles. Horopito Cafe strives to lead by example: in our everyday operations, we minimise packaging, compost organic waste, use UV treated rainwater, recycle wastewater, and have solar heated hot water. We are committed to sourcing and serving local produce reflective of regenerative practice, and to creating opportunities for collaboration and innovation with the wider community. By constantly questioning how we can do better, we hope to inspire others to do better too! 

We have now moved to our winter hours and menu. We are open Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 11am to 2pm, serving a range of baking and cabinet food, and excellent coffee made from beans freshly roasted at Orokonui!
