Annual Pass Holder Events

Celebrate the last day of summer with this special annual pass holders evening at the sanctuary. Explore the valley after hours from 4:30pm-8:00pm and see how the sanctuary changes as twilight nears. We will have members of our guiding and comms team out in the valley to share some info on whats been happening inside the sanctuary. Including answering any questions about how wildlife is doing.

To make an evening of it the cafe is also going to have some special offerings. You you will be able to pre order a special cheese snack box with a selection of cheeses from our local fromager Evansdale. We are also going to have a bar open if you would like to get a drink including a gin and tonic with our friends from Dunedin Craft Distillery who will be there. Of course our popular hot chips and a range of other bar snacks will be available to order as well.

Note this event is for Orokonui annual pass holders and participants will need to present a valid annual pass at the event. Due to limits around numbers there is no provision to bring guests to this event.

They say the early bird catches the worm, but the early visitor might get to watch it. For those keen enough to set their alarms a little early we will be opening the sanctuary from 7:30am so visitors can get the most from the morning light and dawn chorus.

We will have members of our guiding and comms team on site to identify any dawn calls you might be unfamiliar with. As well as perhaps most importantly having the cafe open for hot drinks from 7:30am.
